If you or a member of your family is in the ranks of the retired, this is well worthwhile to review. The Web site is www.suddenlysenior.com. For example, in a recent newsletter, a program called “Extra Help” was discussed. This allows retirees at low income and low resources (single – $16,245 income max; cash & investment resources $12,510 max — married, $21,885 and $25,010 respectively) to cover some drug and Medicare Part D expenses, often with great savings. The program, with typical government logic, is under Social Security, not Medicare. Go to www.ssa.gov to apply, and go to Suddenly Senior for more information on this and other issues for retirees.
